Ariel's Dream

Above is a portrait that took about 10 minutes to take and 7 hours to process! I began thinking of the concept for this photo last week, and ended up doing something completely different than I expected. I was originally planning on a closeup portrait with one eye in the frame and hair filling the rest of the frame - wild and wavy and unruly. I still may do that at some point, but last night as I was attempting to fall asleep, the image of "The Birth of Venus" leapt through my mind, and then morphed into The Little Mermaid. I don't know, the mind is a funny thing.
