This is a set of photographs I made yesterday morning, inspired by my favorite musician, Imogen Heap. In 2009, I had the wonderful opportunity of having one of my photographs used on her grammy winning album, Ellipse; she is currently working on her fourth album, and it's my hope to have the opportunity again to lend my photography to the artwork.
I really enjoy Imogen, not only musically, but as a person who is so extremely talented, intelligent, classy, a humanitarian, and in tune with the world around her; she is also so welcoming of interaction with her fan base, and it's such an honor and joy to meet someone like that. The world would be a much better place with more like her in it! She is inspiring to me in my personal life as well as in my photography.
The photos that I made for this first song that she is working on, tentatively called Lifeline at this time, are a product of the images that sprang to mind when Imogen began describing that her song is to be about the current situation in Japan. She said that she was sitting in a cafe reading the news, when she saw a photo of a man trying to outride the impending devastation on his bicycle, and it not only was what connected her to the tragedy, but made her begin to wonder about those instances of your life that may flash before your eyes in your last moments.
Powerful stuff.
May peace and healing come swiftly to the people in Japan.
