Things we saw in Florida!

Our family went on a weekend trip to the Tampa, Florida area, and here are some of the things we saw! I am originally from Lakeland, Florida and had not been back to the state since moving here to western North Carolina with my parents when I was 13 or 14. Despite the crushing humidity, we had a great time and so many things reminded me of my childhood there; Spanish moss, giant bullfrogs, palm fronds, endless skies, and lizards. And of course, the crashing sound of the ocean waves!

Knoxville Zoo

We went to the Knoxville Zoo yesterday; and by "we," I mean several classes of 2nd graders from my son's school as well as several other busloads of kids from other schools. Being literally in a zoo with that many children is quite an experience, needless to say! ;) I was happy to catch some peaceful moments with the zoo inhabitants, when they weren't nervously looking around as if to wonder why they couldn't run loose like the rest of the "wild animals" at the zoo that day!
